Worship

Music Ministry

SJB is a singing church! Musical expression enhances our worship! In addition to encouraging all to lift up their hearts and voices in praise, we offer special opportunities for those who can devote more of their time and talent to musical ministries. Special musical offerings enrich our services throughout the year, with our local vocalists and musicians, as well as the National Repertory Orchestra, during the summer.

The SJB Choir welcomes all vocalists. No prior experience or audition is required. Rehearsals are held on Sunday mornings at 9:45 AM.  The SJB Choir leads the musical worship at the 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services on Sundays.

For information on how you can participate in the musical life of SJB, please email Jeanie Kramer, Director of Music.

Children's, Youth, & Family Ministries

Our trained staff teaches children using the language of our Christian tradition. Our program is interactive, fun, and rich in learning experiences based on the Bible. It's more than an ordinary Sunday School!

Additional volunteers are still needed to lead Sunday School this year! Please contact Sheila Brockmeier, Director of Children/Youth and Family Ministries for the latest info and opportunities to serve. All lessons, material, and support are provided! Be a blessing, and receive blessings!

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Whether they are called Prayer Shawls, Comfort Shawls, Peace Shawls, or Mantles, etc., the shawl maker begins with prayers and blessings for the recipient. The intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. Upon completion, a final blessing is offered before the shawl is sent on its way. Some recipients have continued the kindness by making a shawl and passing it onto someone in need. Thus, the blessing ripples from person-to-person, with both the giver and receiver feeling the

unconditional embrace of our sheltering, mothering God! Open knitting is every Wednesday from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at Common Spirit / Centura St. Anthony Hospital (340 Peak One Dr, Frisco) in the upstairs lounge. Patterns, yarn and supplies are available. Questions? Email Maggie Ducayet.

Intercessory Prayer Group

The members of the Intercessory Prayer Group (IPG) hold others before God in their personal prayers of thanksgiving and intercession. This ministry is open to all St. John's folk, no matter where you live or how far you travel!

If you have a prayer request to add to the list, or would like to participate in St. John's Intercessory Prayer Group, contact the Parish Administrator for more information.
