Whether you're here for a week, or months at a time,
visitors, guests, family, and friends are invited to join us
as we serve God's people in Summit County and beyond!
The success of St. John's many ministries depends on the loving hands and hearts of every single person in our parish family, and those who join in with us. What do you love to do? God's blessings pour out into our world whenever your gifts and passions intersect with the world's needs.

Seasonal Building & Landscape Maintenance
Snow shoveling in the winter, and grass cutting in the summer! We need YOU to help keep our yard, gardens, and building beautiful. Come once, or help throughout the season! It's great exercise too! Email John Landon, our Jr. Warden, for details about how to pitch in. (You can also call or text him at 970-485-5765.) This is a wonderful ministry for individuals, couples, families, friends, and visitors!
Children's, Youth, & Family Ministries
Our trained staff teaches children using the language of our Christian tradition. Our program is interactive, fun, and rich in learning experiences based on the Bible. It's more than an ordinary Sunday School!
Additional volunteers are still needed to lead Sunday School this year! We are running two classes divided by age: one group, approx. Pre-K through 2nd grade, and the other group, approx. 5th-8th grades. (Children in 3rd-4th grades will be placed based on parental input.) Please contact Sheila Brockmeier to help out one Sunday a month or less. All lessons, material, and support are provided! Be a blessing, and receive blessings!
Music Ministry at St. John the Baptist
SJB is a singing church! Musical expression enhances our worship! In addition to encouraging all to lift up their hearts and voices in praise, we offer special opportunities for those who can devote more of their time and talent to musical ministries. Special musical offerings enrich our services throughout the year, with our local vocalists and musicians, as well as the National Repertory Orchestra, during the summer.
The SJB Choir welcomes all vocalists. While many are seasoned choristers, and most have music-reading skills, no prior experience or audition is required. Rehearsals are held on Sunday mornings at 9:45 AM. The SJB Choir leads the musical worship at the 10:30 AM service on Sundays.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Whether they are called Prayer Shawls, Comfort Shawls, Peace Shawls, or Mantles, etc., the shawl maker begins with prayers and blessings for the recipient. The intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. Upon completion, a final blessing is offered before the shawl is sent on its way. Some recipients have continued the kindness by making a shawl and passing it onto someone in need. Thus, the blessing ripples from person-to-person, with both the giver and receiver feeling the unconditional embrace of our sheltering, mothering God! Open knitting is every Wednesday from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at "The Next Page Bookstore," 409 E. Main Street, Frisco. Patterns, yarn and supplies are available.
Intercessory Prayer Group
The 24 members of the "IPG" hold others before God in their personal prayers of thanksgiving and intercession (and receive a fresh confidential prayer list each week to guide them). This ministry is open to all St. John's folk, no matter where you live or how far you travel! If you would like to participate in St. John's Intercessory Prayer Group, please contact Charlie for more information.
Also, let Charlie know if you have a prayer request to add to the list.
