This past week the waterproofing and insulating of the new foundation under the Parish Hall was been completed. These next two weeks will see the installation of two structural beams above the new Gathering Place to support the renovated Parish Hall. Once these beams are set in place, the construction team can then move forward with lowering the Parish Hall back down on the new foundation. It appears this will take place the week after Christmas and will be the culmination of the construction of the church’s new foundation. We can then breathe a sigh of relief (as can Nate and crew!) as this part of the construction project has been the most challenging and the most weather-dependent.
Effective today, December 14, Summit County will convert the Speakeasy Theatre next door into a COVID-19 testing site. For this reason, the use of the library parking lot by our construction team will be limited to only what we currently have fenced off. The excavator has been working as quickly as possible to backfill around the foundation, thereby reducing the size of the dirt pile within the fenced off area. This will allow for increased construction storage within the fenced off area.
A reminder: visitors are NOT allowed on this construction site for safety reasons.
A reminder: Wally, our Treasurer, will accept any early pledge payments as this will allow us to use more of our money and less borrowing.
We are deeply grateful for your continued generosity and ongoing prayers as we move forward!
